WHAT IS A PARTISAN PRIMARY AND WHO'S ON THE BALLOT?

Voters in a Partisan Primary choose which candidates will be on the ballot at the General Election in November. Wisconsin has open primary elections, which means:

• voters do not register by political party
• voters choose which party's primary to vote in, but they can only vote in that party
• a voter's party choice is a secret, just like their ballot

In the 2026 Partisan Primary, voters are nominating candidates from the Republican Party, Democratic Party, Constitution Party, Libertarian Party, and Wisconsin Green Party, for these partisan offices:

Governor
Lieutenant Governor
Attorney General
Secretary of State
Treasurer
Representative in Congress, 8th District
Representative to the State Assembly, 6th District
Shawano County Sheriff
Shawano County Coroner
Shawano County Clerk of Circuit Court
